This half-day tour takes you to two of Chiang Rai's lovely temples, where you can learn about the Thai style of architecture. You will also have the chance to boat to the mysterious Tham Pra cave.The first stop on the tour is Wat Pra Kaew, a temple containing a marvelous emerald Buddha. The countours are so well-crafted, and the color is magnificent. It is because of this statue that Wat Pra Kaew earned its name. Given royal status in 1978, Wat Pra Kaew is one of the loveliest temples in Chiang rai. Intimidating naga scultures guard the temple, protecting the sacred resting place of the emerald Buddha. Next, you'll ride a long-tail boat to the Tham Pra cave. A temple lies inside amongst the rocks, with a golden Buddha brightening up the dark cave walls. It's an odd sight, to see a temple hidden away in a cave, and an all-together one-of-a-kind experience.
