The Night Safari opened its doors next to the Singapore Zoo in 1994. The Night Safari is the world's first safari park for nocturnal animals, making it a one of a kind experience.Visitors are now able to see animals that only come out when the sun goes down, and these night safari animals are quite a sight. The Night Safari has over 2,500 animals from over 130 species, both nocturnal and day-roaming. The animal fare includes many indigenous to Singapore, such as the endangered Asian Elephants, Malayan Tapir, and Malayan Tiger. The animals live on a large plot of land made up of 14 hectares of dense rainforest.Wild deer roam freely in the park, while your more fierce animals like leopards are kept a safe distance from the guests with reinforced barriers. The best way to begin your nighttime adventure is on a guided tram tour. This exciting 40-minute expedition takes you deep into the world of nocturnal animals. Your tram guide will tell you fascinating facts about the residents as you journey through seven geographically themed zones. Visitors can also explore the park on foot along one of the four walking trails. To add to the experience, you can enjoy a tasty buffet meal at The Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant, where classic Singapore dishes such as chilli crab, chicken rice, and chicken tandoori are served in a village-style setting. All in all, this Singapore Safari is an experience you will not want to miss out on.
