Description
Your full day adventure will begin at the Orchid and Butterfly Farm where you will get to see beautiful array of orchids as well as colorful butterflies. Then we head on over to the Elephant Poo Paper Factory where you can learn how they make paper out of elephant poo fibers. After that, we go to the Chokchai Elephant Camp. Here guests will enjoy many activities such as riding on the elephants, bamboo rafting, zip lining, trekking through the jungle, visiting the Karen long neck village, and white water rafting. After your long day of activities, guests can unwind and relax at the waterfall.

Orchid and Butterfly Farms- Located near each other in Mae Rim district is a cluster of four orchid and butterfly farms offering you chances to witness the beauties of different types of orchids as well as colorful butterflies. Among the four, Sai Nam Phueng Farm is Chiang Mai’s largest orchid farm while the other three: Mae Rim Orchid, Suan Bua Mae Sa, and Bai Orchid & Butterfly also offers beautiful exotic orchids and butterflies. These parks are great for orchid and butterfly lovers.

Elephant POOPOO PAPER Park is an eco-friendly park and outdoor museum that demonstrates the unique steps involved in making the much talked about paper products from elephant poop fibers. The interpretive walking tour through the lush gardens brings visitors through eight different pavilions explaining each stages of the fascinating process from poo collection to rinsing to final product assembly.  Visitors are encouraged to pull up a stool, roll up their sleeves and join together with the talented artisans and guides and participate in the head-turning process. Learning the history of paper covering its invention in China almost 2000 years ago, that spread throughout Asia then expanded to Egypt and the Middle East, followed by Europe and the Americas. This park offers genuine eco-tourism, rich history and culture, artisans, local crafts, education, fun, and one-of-a-kind shopping.

Chokchai Elephant Camp is located 60 km north of Chiang Mai in a town called Mae Taeng.  Just beyond Mae Taeng village is the Mae Taeng river valley where most of the elephant camps are located and all the outdoor activities are set around it. At the Chokchai elephant camp, guests will enjoy elephant shows such as elephants painting pictures, elephant rides, Bamboo River rafting, and ziplining.  For the Bamboo Rafting guests can sit back or stand up on a raft made of bamboo and drift down the river amidst all the wildlife and enjoy nature. These traditional bamboo rafts were how locals traveled and carried goods for trade back in the olden days. Now you can experience this ride for yourself. A raft operator will drive you up the mountain to ride down the Mae Wong River. The rafts are made of long stalks of dried bamboo fastened together by ropes. This traditional raft is stable but be prepared to get wet. After rafting, guests can pump up their adrenaline by going Ziplining.  Guests will be guided by a professional team who will also follow you up all the way for safety. The ziplining tour operates under the principle of ecotourism which means it’s sustainable and environmentally friendly. The treetop walking and zipline has been installed with minimal disturbance to nature and do no damage to trees. All guests will enjoy this “once in a lifetime” experience.
*Zipline is an Optional Package

Karen Long Neck- Big Ear Village (Optional Package) The Karen are a Tribal Group who have historically lived in the hills on the Myanmar (formerly Burma) side of the Thai border. Best recognized for their elongated necks, the Karen women wear heavy brass rings around their necks, forearms, and shins. While the Karen men are mainly field workers and farmers, the women have a rich history of crafting from wood carving to weaving. Overall the Long Neck Tribes live a rugged, yet simple lifestyle, but the fruits of their labor are colorful and lively.
There are around 40,000 Karen members today, but thousands have fled to Burma over the decades of political unrest. Fleeing to Thailand was a very safe choice for many, but the ones that came are largely illegal immigrants and do not have options for gaining Thai citizenship.
The Karen women put themselves though the neck lengthening routine is simply traditional. While there are some of the women that need to stick with the tradition to make money since they are refugees, there are some woman that do it just to hold onto their heritage.  In the early days of the Long Necks, the practice of the brass rings was started not just for beauty, but also to protect against tigers or wild animal attacks and in some cases even just because the village leader said he preferred it.  Today many of the young Karen women are breaking with tradition and it is estimated that the neck lengthening practice only has a few generations of life left.  Visiting the Karen Long Neck village will be one of the most exotic experiences you will ever have. To get to the Karen Village, guests will have to trek through the jungle.
Trekking through the jungle is one of the main draws of visiting Chiang. Discovering mountains, hill tribes, and nature is a great way to escape, recharge, and unwind from the stress of life.

White Water Rafting Taeng River- The beautiful and rugged Mae Taeng Valley is located in the north-eatern corner of Chiang Mai. The Mae Taeng District is nestled between Chiang Mai Dao Nature Preserve and Huaj Nam Dang National Park. It is home to many ethnic hill tribes, large population of domestic elephants and exotic wildlife. Guests can enjoy white water rafting along the Taeng River as it provides a lush jungle, local wildlife, and can see the exotic hill tribes. This part of the tour will truly be an unforgettable experience for any visitor.  After the long day of funfill adventures, guests can unwind and relax at the beautiful waterfall.
