The Sanctuary of Truth
is a magnificent glorious Temple that is made of 100% carved wood. Located on Rachvate Cape, in Naklua, Pattaya the Temple sits on a large area of more than two rais. The top of the structure is about 105 meters high and it was built to withstand the wind and sunshine on the seashore. The architectural design of the building was constructed according to the ancient Thai style and ingenuity where every square inch is carved out of wood. The sanctuary is filled with wood carved sculptures based on traditional Buddhist and Hindu motifs. There are unique sculptures that are carved right into the building or hanging off the sides. The Sanctuary of Truth was created to represent the old arts and cultures of Thailand’s past. It represents the ideology of the ancient vision of the Earth, ancient knowledge, eastern philosophy, and religions by incorporating the relations between human and universe which are Mother, Father, Earth, Sky, Moon, Sun, and Stars.
As you enter this magnificent perfectly wood carved complex, visitors will feel everything that the Temple was meant for you to feel. Since the building is made entirely by carved wood like 100 year old teak wood and mahogany wood and since it sits right on the water’s edge, the salt water sea breeze changes the color of the wood and speeds up the decaying process daily. So as you are walking through the Temple, you will see many master carvers that will be carving certain statues, certain walls, or certain parts of the Temple itself. The work is non-stop because the building needs to be carved out all the time. The Sanctuary of Truth is one of the most unique and beautiful Temple you will ever see.
