Koh Kham is a small private island that is situated approximately 9 kilometers south of the Sattahip Naval Base and around 1 hour from Pattaya main beach.. Due to its delicate ecosystem, the tiny tropical island is overseen by the Naval Coast Guard, which has declared the island a Marine National Park. Surrounded by crystal blue/green waters, visitors may only travel there, by getting permission from the Thai Navy. Viewing the fragile yet magnificent coral reefs here can be done by boarding a navy ship with a glass bottom, diving, or snorkeling. Koh Kham can be reached by the marine ships, takes about 25-35 minutes to reach the island. With its gorgeous white sandy beaches, the island comprises of long twin mountains linked together by a stretch of land to form an H-shape island. According to the Royal Thai Navy, Koh Kham is one of the country’s three islands that are under the Pilot Project, which is a campaign for preserving the coral reefs. All around the island are rehabilitation areas for coral reefs to bloom, which are then relocated once they reach maturity. We must all do our part to protect the coral reefs from disappearing from the Ocean in order to preserve the habitat of all sea life. The beaches have the whitest, softest sand you will find anywhere.
