If you have seen the Tomb Raider movie, then you probably remember the majestic Bayon temple with stone faces carved on them. Not too far away is Angkor Wat, the temple complex in Siem Reap and it is also the largest religious monument in the world. Located in northwestern Cambodia, Siem Reap is a city rich in history and cultural heritage. Buddhism is the main religion here, and many of the monuments and ruins incorporate religion into their design. When you venture into the temple complex, you would feel like you have stepped back in time to witness the wonderful colossal creation of the ancient world. It is no wonder that each year, millions of tourists come to Siem Reap to see the Angkor temples. Aside from the beautiful temples, Siem Reap has delicious food that visitors have to try. Various food stalls and night markets give you the freedom to try out new delicacy and do some souvenir shopping. Although there are pubs and bars at Siem Reap, but the city still maintains a very traditional way of life. Some local villages allow tourists to tour the place where they will get a chance to see villagers cook their local dish and make handicrafts.
